Arts in the City 2022 is Coming!

Arts in the City Offers Something for Everyone This Summer

The Minot Area Council of the Arts is excited to bring you Arts in the City 2022 with Sundays in the Park kicking off on June 5th, and Thursdays Downtown on June 9th! Live music heads back outside this summer with plenty of free opportunities from the Minot Area Council of the Arts.

Main Street is the place to be Thursday nights starting June 9th for Arts in the City – Thursdays Downtown. With live music, art vendors, bounce houses, food trucks, axe throwing, and more, the street comes alive each week until August 4th. “We are really excited about this year’s line-up for Thursdays, which includes two bands each week and a lot of new faces,” said Anderson. Vendors open at 5:30 pm and the music starts at 6:00 pm every Thursday. This year’s downtown kickoff includes a partnership with Independence Inc., another local nonprofit. The Sound of Independence Music Festival comes back to Minot as the first Arts in the City – Thursdays Downtown event of the summer.

As always, all concerts are free to attend and everyone is welcome.

Arts in the City – Sundays in the Park starts on June 5th with two performances from local musician, Daniel Starks. “All of your park favorites return this summer for Sunday concerts,” said Justin Anderson, Executive Director of the Minot Area Council of the Arts. Park concerts take place every Sunday from June 5th – July 31st. While most of the concerts take place in Oak Park, this year will bring two concerts at Roosevelt Park. Anderson said, “We’re looking forward to a change of venue on June 12 and June 19, and an opportunity to have music in front of the mural on the Roosevelt Park bandshell.” Concerts are at 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm each week, with the exception of July 3 when there will only be a concert at 7:00 pm.
