Of the Earth: Stories of Women in North Dakota

September 16, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Join us for Camilla Morrison’s talk and presentation of her garment designs, ‘Of The Earth: Stories of Women in North Dakota’ on Thursday, September 16 from 7-8 p.m. at the Northwest Arts Center.

Morrison is a costume designer, draper, artist and teacher based out of Grand Forks, ND. She is currently the Costume Designer/Teaching Assistant Professor at the University of North Dakota and a 2020-2021 North Dakota Council on the Arts Individual Artist Fellow. Her body of work entitled ‘Of The Earth: Stories of Women in North Dakota’ was inspired by interviews with women from North Dakota and their collective experiences surrounding aging, motherhood, relationships, and being a woman in North Dakota.

This project is supported in part by a grant from the North Dakota Council on the Arts, which receives funding from the state legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts.

The gallery is located on the lower level of the Gordon B. Olson Library, with its own entrance on the south side of the library. It is open TWThF, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 1-5 p.m. and by special arrangement. It is closed holidays.
