The Depot is a celebration and events venue located on north Main Street in Downtown Minot. It’s historic charm and refurbished grandeur help to create an elegant location like no other. The Depot is a stunning showpiece from another era featuring arched ceilings, original brickwork, wooden features, and decorative molding. This turn-of-the-century architectural masterpiece in historic downtown has been modernized with amenities, accessibility, and event technology.
The Depot’s team is on-site throughout events and handles setup and takedown of tables, chairs, and linens; they also offer a Bose sound system, microphones, a projector, and a screen. The in-house catering team specializes in creating a custom menu that compliments the event experience; a full bar is served from the eye-catching, original ticketing counter.
The inaugural event held at The Depot after historic renovations were complete in 2019 was the 10th and final WhyNotFest. Music has continued to fill the air with performances from the Minot Chamber Chorale and the Minot State University choirs, and during an album release party for Wild Hands.
It serves as an ideal space for a variety of special occasions, including musical performances, private parties, micro-weddings, and receptions. The venue comfortably accommodates up to 200 guests for a cocktail reception, 150 for a seated dinner, 225 attendees theater-style, or approximately 100 in classroom-style seating.
Aside from the main event space, two additional private rooms are available upstairs and the one-of-a-kind, connected, seasonal pavilion can provide a unique, outdoor space to extend the event footprint.
In addition to hosting weddings, receptions, birthday parties, meetings, and conferences, The Depot collaborated with the Taube Museum for a 2020 artist reception and welcomed Cool Beans as background music during a private retirement celebration. The Depot itself is a work of art, and is operated by Aksal Group, local developer and supporter of the vibrant arts and culture scene in Minot.
