Artists After Hours ft. LADAMA

March 1 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

oin us for a special World Fest edition of Artists After Hours featuring LADAMA!
LADAMA is an ensemble of women musicians from across the Americas who, as well as performing as a touring band, strive to engage youth in their respective communities in the process of music-making, composition and audio production through collaboration and performance workshops. They are Mafer Bandola (Venezuela), Lara Klaus (Brazil), Daniela Serna (Colombia) and Sara Lucas (U.S.). With rhythm and percussion driving their original compositions sung in Spanish, Portuguese and English they combine disparate, traditional roots music with pop. The result is a sonic experience through which we can view our future as a world that communicates across continents and cultures, with sound and story.
Join us in the Carnegie Center for an evening of live, collaborative music and art! The evening will start out with a collaborative workshop from LADAMA. We’ll have a Community Canvas available, as well as paints and other art-making supplies.
Artists After Hours are unique, inclusive events centered on expressing a shared passion for creating art and community!
-AAH events are all-ages, EVERYONE is welcome!
-Cash bar and MACA popcorn will be available.
-Donation-based cover at the door.
About Artists After Hours:
In the spring of 2022, we began hosting Artists After Hours events at the Carnegie Center in Downtown Minot. These events are intended to provide networking opportunities and a social environment for Minot creatives to gather in order to share their works and practice-insights, and to collaborate on music, visual arts, written works, etc.
Our goal for this program is to strengthen and support the Minot arts collective by providing local creatives access to a supportive network of individuals, working within the sector, who possess a range of interests and expertise.
About Arts Midwest World Fest:
Since 2003, Arts Midwest World Fest has been offering small Midwest communities once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to learn about the world from musicians inside and outside the US. This year, Arts Midwest continues with tours from three global music ensembles to nine states.
A program of Arts Midwest, the 2023 World Fest artist tours are generously supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies, and North Dakota Council on the Arts.
